This week we have been learning about the respiratory system. On Wednesday we used balloons and bottles to mimic the diaphragm and the lungs. We had great fun trying to make the 'lungs' fill with air by pulling the 'diaphragm'. When we pulled the diaphragm down the lungs expanded. As we pushed the diaphragm up the lungs contracted. Check out our work! Amy's third class had lots of fun creating these colourful pieces of work.
We used wet crepe paper to get all the lovely colours See how many positove adjectives you can find! We were so excited to discover some new little residents (all the way from England) had come and made their home in our class. They were going to help us with our ‘Explanation Writing’. We observed them closely and took note of all their changes as they grew, checking in on them each day. We learnt tonnes of information from watching our furry friends closely. We learnt from all of our questions, our research, and all the fun facts we shared with each other. In the end we were ready to write. And that we did! We were so proud of our work and we happily cheered goodbye to the butterflies in the outdoor garden. How fabulous is our second class gratitude tree? In second class, we have been taking time out to think about all that we are thankful for. It's great to ponder and wander about all the good in our lives. We had so much!
Winter poems The children wrote wonderful winter poems and they had fun creating snowflakes before the winter break! Take a look at a few of the acrostic poems below. I think these poems sum up the frightful but fun weather that we had this week! Take a look and maybe you can have a go at writing another winter poem! ⛄🌲
