The Sam Maguire Cup paid a second visit to our school and we were lucky enough to have it in our classrooms for a while where the children got to get really close to it, lift it and some even sat into in! In Claire's class we all got together in a photo with the Dublin colours and of course the Kerry colours!!
We have been getting active in Orla's Junior Infant class! Our P.E. days are Wednesday and Friday, and this month we have been focusing on the Games strand of the curriculum.
We have also tried some yoga in our classroom, along with getting some busy breaks during class time. Go Noodle is our favourite website for finding an activity to do - check it out here. For some of our P.E lessons and part of busy breaks during the school day we have been practicing yoga. Children derive enormous benefits from yoga. Physically, it enhances their flexibility, strength, coordination, and body awareness. In addition, their concentration and sense of calmness and relaxation improves. Sometimes an infant classroom can be a noisy and energetic place so yoga helps calms us and prepare us for our learning.
