te have been learning a poem every morning. We know actions to the words. It's about a secret den! Dens are special places where children can play alone or with a friend. They can be in a tent, up a tree, under a blanket... In fact they can be made almost anywhere! 

We drew our dream dens! Ask us about them!

A den for all seasons

I have a dark and secret den,
Hidden high in a leafy tree,
Where it's safe and warm and cosy,
And there's only just room for me.

In spring I like to sit and stare,
At bird's nests and blossom flowers,
While rich new leaves give me shelter,
From the sudden April showers.

In autumn I just lie and dream,
Relaxed from my head to my toes,
The winds fan my hair and rock me,
While the dead leaves tickle my nose.

In summer I wear camouflage,
Shadowed cow prints of black and white,
Painted by leaves that fan and cool,
As they let in the sun's bright light.

In winter I'm wisely grounded,
A secret den is not for me,
When snow falls on icy branches,
It's then that I go home for tea!
