Mr Majeika is a wonderful series of books. They perfect for first class children. We were reading the first book in the series before the school closures. This is an audio recording of Chapter 1. 

Listening to stories is great as we get to create movies in our minds as we listen. We get to decide what the characters look like and what the setting (the place where the story happens) looks like.
