As part of investigations into wet and dry things we looked at the difference between waterproof and non-waterproof clothing. We looked at a range of clothing discussing and comparing the characteristics of each before and after they had been sprayed with water. The children were then tasked with making waterproof clothing for a doll so that the the doll would remain dry after being sprayed with water. The children had to test if the material they wanted to use would be waterproof before they could go ahead and use it for waterproof clothing for their doll. After they completed the clothing with subjected the dolls to a thorough spraying of water and looked afterwards if the body of the doll remained dry or if it got wet.
