We've started reading an illustrated copy of the first Harry Potter book. We are already deeply invested in the characters and the story - and struggling not to share spoilers with those who have never read any of the books or seen any of the movies!
Today we conducted a study of what have learned about Dudley Dursley to date, and compiled a character profile, with reference to specific passages in the book.
What a treat we had on Wednesday! Following on from our fun outing to the puppet show at Rua Red last Friday, Eoin came to our class to talk to us about how to create puppets and a whole puppet show!
Did you know that you can make a puppet from something as simple as a piece of paper?! As long as you make it breathe, it will work as a puppet.
We worked in teams to make up a simple play and perform it to the rest of the class.
Today, as a part of Book Week, we had a chance to visit the school library, which has now been furnished and had its shelves stocked. It was lovely to browse through the books and have an opportunity to read with our friends.
While we were in the neighbourhood, we visited the new meeting room, which had Science projects all around! Eldon's Fourth Class have been working on these projects for a competition and we really enjoyed exploring them and learning about the experiments and research they've been conducting!
