It has certainly been a busy couple of months as we have settled into our new school and new classroom. Here is a brief update of what we have been getting up to in Third Class!

English: As part of our work in English, we have been learning about Procedural Writing. We looked at examples of procedural writing, we worked in pairs to create a procedure... before working on a procedure independently.

Maths: Our Maths work in the month of February has included lots of practice of our multiplication and division tables, as we are learning these for the first time. We have also been learning about Fractions and Chance.

S.E.S.E. - At the moment, we are learning about The Stone Age in History. At the beginning of the topic, we told Orla what we would like to learn about the Stone Age, so we are working our way through all of that! In Science, we are learning about the Peacock and based some artwork around this.

P.E. - Our P.E. strand for the month of February was Gymnastics. We practice the forward roll, we attempted a handstand (with the help of the wall!!) and we practiced our balancing and landing.

The Daily Mile: This month, we have begun The Daily Mile - a whole-school initiative, with the aim of enabling us to run more. We do it 3-4 times per week and we can already see improvements in our stamina!
